Our Free Range Birds

What makes our free range chicken and turkey different? We do.

Time and Care.
We do both.

Our chickens are allowed to grow slowly as registered free range chicken. Far longer than standard indoor chickens. Our process is deliberately slow and steady, as this allows the birds to develop more naturally. We rear our free range chickens all year, every year.

Our turkeys are reared in two farming styles. The majority are reared as registered free range turkeys. A small number are reared as farm fresh turkeys. Our turkeys are reared on a seasonal basis, for the Christmas season.

Stress Free.
Noise-free.

We have a low stocking density so our birds are kept comfortable and relaxed. We use natural light so our birds have a natural day to night rhythm.

Everything on the farm is kept steady. Repetitive. And consistent. Keeping the birds peaceful.

Natural Environment.
Living as nature intended.

Our birds are free to graze and roam as they wish during daylight hours. We rear our chickens from one day old and our turkeys once they are ‘off heat’. In addition, all processing is all done on our farm.

One unique feature of how we rear our poultry is that our stocking density is low. This means that our birds are in smaller groups and have greater space to behave naturally in their housing. Again, the emphasis on this reduced stress environment is that it allows us to rear a happier and more relaxed bird.

Tastier. Always.

As a direct result of the three items addressed above, our birds taste so much better. At the end of the day, it all comes down to our process, which significantly leads to a richer, more intense flavour which results in better meat texture.
